Rice combined with Jason Bohn to shoot a 2-under 70 on the day but it
was her approach shot on the sixth hole that caught everyone's
attention. Everyone, that is, except one woman in the gallery. Rice's
approach shot drilled the unidentified woman square in the forehead,
leading to much blood (where's Berman in his Hannibal hat when you need
him?) and confusion. But the woman – and it wasn't clear whether Condi
drilled a fellow Republican or took out a Democrat – made a nice
recovery and did not need stitches to close the injury. She was even
seen walking the course after the incident.
